A house has stood on this site since the late 17th century, when the Palace was built and royalty put Kensington on the map.  The present building, in characteristic Dutch Revival style, dates from the 1880s and was originally two gracious townhouses.

Today, following a top-to-toe £5 million refurbishment, but still retaining many period details and original architectural features, the hotel is a landmark of unique character and 21st century elegance with luxurious apartments with fireplaces, en-suite marble bathrooms, extravagant entertaining space, fully equipped kitchens, 24 hour room service and all the amenities of a five star hotel.
