Islington really has come alive in the past 10 years. It is full of fabulous eateries, trendy people, quirky independent stores and great nightlife.
One of the great things about Islington is its variety of places to dine and its nightlife. It is an area popular with young professionals.
Visit the 02 academy Islington if you want to see the best in live music from both emerging artists to established acts. Plus, there are weekly club nights.
Just off the buzz of Upper Street, almost hidden away sits Camden Passage. A cool treasure trove of vintage stores, antique shops, independent stores and cafes. It is also home to one of London’s oldest antiques markets held on Saturdays.
Check out the Everyman Screen on the Green cinema which has plenty of retro attraction. This single-screen venue is one of London’s oldest continuously running cinemas and has a varied program that includes National Theatre Live screenings and film festivals. It has a well-stocked bar, huge sweetie jars and popcorn of course.
Looking for food? We love Ottolenghi owned by British chef and cookery writer Yotam Ottolenghi. It is the perfect brunching spot that will certainly satisfy the taste buds and appetite. From some of London’s best French toast to a whole range of muffins and savory foods. It serves right up to supper too. The only downside is that; you can’t physically eat everything! It is directly opposite the Almeida theatre and offers a pre-theatre menu.
The Almedia theatre is the perfect place to see the next generation of British artists on the world stage of theatre.
