Winter Wonderland

Food, drink, markets, thrill rides, ice rink, circus, Ice Kingdom & more!!!

Winter Wonderland 2013 London This is just amazing! If there is one festive thing to do in London, then it is Winter Wonderland.  This is because there is a plethora of fun stuff to do.  You can stuff your face with delicious artisan food and a hot beverages such as a festive mulled wine at the Fire Pit and how about joining in on a 70’s party at night! And of course it wouldn’t be a proper Christmas market without some German sausage so check out the Famous Bavarian Village with food, bars and live music. At London’s biggest celebration of festivity, you can eat and drink in so many different areas whilst listening to different music from various decades. Of course whilst sipping your mulled wine or hot chocolate, you can browse the choice of picturesque Christmas markets and browse the vast amount of unique gifts. On top of all this festive buzz, there is lots more to do.  There are thrill rides ideal for kids (tokens required), an ice rink and The Magical Ice Kingdom which is a magical kingdom made of ice! You can see Zippos Circus and enjoy the sights of London from the Giant Wheel. Winter Wonderland is free to enter however if you want to you will need a ticket for the Ice Skating, The Magical Kingdom, Zippos Circus and the Giant Wheel.  However there is plenty of stuff to see and do with the free entry.  I would recommend arriving in good time, such as before late afternoon on a Saturday or you could be waiting in a cue for a while. For booking tickets for events that require booking there is a 10% discount for groups. And for somewhere to stay check out our serviced apartments London.

Christmas Past

Step into Christmas and back in time to discover how Christmas was celebrated in the past.

Christmas Past Geffrye Museum Ok so I have mentioned a somewhat obvious yet well worth while attraction, so now I will suggest something a bit different.  If you’re like me and love to glimpse into history then you may enjoy the Geffrye Museum that is celebrating Christmas with the annual ‘Christmas Past’ exhibition. The exhibition hosts rooms reflecting different times and the festive tastes of the past.  There is a programme of family events which suit each theme and there are activities such as creating your own Christmas decorations. You can also enjoy carols by candlelight. And at the end, you can sip on mulled wine and see the traditional burning of holly and ivy in Geffrye Museum gardens. To be honest I didn’t even know about this tradition so it is worth a visit to celebrate the times gone by as well as now!

American Psycho

Almeida Theatre, Almeida Street, Islington, London, N1 1TA

Matt Smith This is not exactly festive entertainment however for those who may not be as much into Christmas or want  to do something different than see all the sparkling decorations, drink mulled wine and sing carols then check out this.  American Psycho, the dark and famous book that was turned into a film is on stage from December to the end of January 2014. This musical thriller is based on Bret Easton Ellis’s 1991 book about a young, beautiful, ivy league, Wall Street Investment Banker with a sinister side!     Starring Matt Smith as Character Patrick Bateman!
